Geez Mabovu – Mtoto wa Kiume -Geez Mabovu’s 2006 album Mbwa Mchafu Wa Kusini included the iconic Tanzanian Bongo Hip Hop song “Mtoto wa Kiume.” The song considers the challenges of maturing, overcoming adversity, and the will to put in a lot of effort and create a better life.

Geez Mabovu portrays the duties that come with being a man, such as tenacity, independence, respect, and caring for younger family members, through compelling storytelling and unvarnished street-inspired rap. The song is still one of his most well-known compositions and a significant part of Tanzanian Bongo Hip Hop history.
